My name is Jaime Alvarez Jr. I few years ago I wanted to get back into shape and my brother introduced to kettlebells since he himself had just been introduced to them. I bought a book and my brother got me a Steve Cotter DVD for Christmas one year and fell in love the concept even more. Steve Cotter came to my local gym, Total Performance Sports, to certify kettlebell teachers and I knew I had to do it. I practiced before hand and was able to pass the certification. I'm relatively easy going and have a lot of patience. I do my best to answer any questions that there may be.

I've been doing all kinds of yoga and fitness for thirty years. I'm a yoga teacher, a runner with the Merrimack Valley Striders, a skier and snowboarder. I love to mountain bike and hike, and I still play women's lacrosse on a local team, and love working out with kettlebells. I'm interested in all kinds of movement and am a professed anatomy geek.
I have completed the teacher training in the Iyengar system with Patricia Walden am studying to become a certified Iyengar instructor. The Iyengar system requires precise alignment in the yoga asanas or postures. I've been teaching yoga since 2006 when I completed and became a certified Forrest Yoga Teacher. I'm a certified group exercise instructor, personal trainer, and CTK Level 2 (Certified Kettlebell Trainer). I'm a 500 hour RYT (registered yoga teacher). For more information about me see www.tomariken.com.

Ryan learned weightlifting in college where he was a football lineman and worked with the school's strength and conditioning coach for two years. Post football, and throughout his 20's, he practiced bad eating habits, and the same old weightlifting routines. In April 2009, carrying around 325 pounds with aching shoulders and a bad lower back, he stepped out the door to start jogging and see if he could begin shedding some weight, "maybe 30 or 40 pounds" he thought. To everyone's surprise, he lost over 100 pounds in a year! He has kept that weight off for a second year and feels like he has regained his youth.
During his weightloss journey, Ryan became very active at the gym and learned how to eat a healthy diet. He has tried many different forms of exercise and gives a lot of credit to the fitness trainers he trained with either in group classes or on the gym floor. That is why he has chosen to become a trainer himself. He wants to do his part to help the public reach their fitness goals, and plans to focus on using Kettlebells and Pilates to help men and women change their own bodies.
He is currently studying for the NASM CPT exam, and is willing to give kettlebell instruction in group or one-on-one settings.

My name is Kevin O'Malley and I am owner of Vagabond CrossFit in Easton, Massachusetts. I have been involved in fitness my whole life, ranging from playing basketball up until I was age of 22 from different levels, and moved onto taking part in training and running in various running races from marathon distance to ultrathons. I came into CrossFit Training, after I was introduced after my running career, and later on opened my own facility, and now am competing on the national level in the sport of CrossFit. I have a fond respect for the kettlebell community, and the tranfer ability to our CrossFit Training. The IKFF is a great organization and opened my eyes to a new wayof training.
