IKFF Level I CKT

Born and raised in El Paso, Texas, Emmanuel Gonzalez is no stranger to competitive sports, weight loss or fitness. From an early age he took advantage of a very successful wrestling program at Montwood High school and became one of the school’s most successful wrestlers. Emmanuel is competitive in spirit and has tenacity for discipline and conditioning which took him towards the sport of mixed martial arts. As a result, this has brought new fitness challenges that no regular gym could provide or help Emmanuel to over come. Over the next few years Emmanuel experimented with many diets and forms of exercise that would maximize his potential as an athlete and mixed martial artist. He immersed himself in the arts of jiu-jitsu, muay thai, boxing and submission wrestling; during this time he found that Kettlebell training would provide him with the best condition, strength and help lose fat in an enjoyable and expedited manner. The Kettlebell system gave him the athletic and physical edge he needed to excel in this rigorous and distinctive sport.

Emmanuel went to become an IKFF (International Kettlebell Fitness Federation) certified teacher who trains everyone from beginners to experts, people seeking weight loss, improved health or a simple “tone up.” He offers a wide range of programs and services from grappling, to Kettlebell strength and conditioning, weight loss, and joint mobility exercises. He not only helps his client’s lose weight but also introduces them to a healthier lifestyle. Emmanuel currently continues to compete in mixed martial art events all over southwest Texas.

Known as "The Reverend" for his bombastic mannerisms and evangelical enthusiasm, Bart Stewart is an IKFF-certified kettlebell instructor under Steve Cotter and certified Crossfit Kettlebell Instructor under Jeff Martone of Tactical Athlete. Possessed of a devout passion for kettlebells, he has over three years of experience in kettlebell instruction, and his client list has included a group as diverse as UFC contenders, tactical operators, world-champion skydivers, and touring professional comedians. He trains each client according to their purpose and fitness level, while challenging each client to push past their notion of "limits", maximizing results.

Kettlebells, sandbags, battling ropes, sledgehammers, drag sleds, and tractor tires...ALL of these things are on the agenda at Primal Iron Strength Training. Bart and his staff of skilled assistant instructors will work closely with each student to show them that deep down, they are stronger than they ever thought they were, or could be.

His approach to training is simple and based on a quote from one of his personal heroes, President Theodore Roosevelt; "Do what you can, with what you have, where you are" and tempered by the words of Friedrich Nietzsche; "That which does not kill me only serves to make me stronger". He promises not to kill you. But to make you stronger, you're gonna have to put in the work.

Website: www.primalgym.com

After graduating with a degree in accounting and working as a tax accountant for many years, I decided to pursue my true passion in health and fitness.  I hold a Master’s degree in Health and Human Performance from the University of Houston and am certified through the IKFF and NSCA.  Primal Gym arose out of my interest in improving human movement in a "real-life" way.  Whatever the load or resistance; kettlebell, dumbbell, barbell, or sandbag, I believe people should focus on the primitive movement patterns that were so natural to our ancestors.

The rewards from training clients are many.  From simply improving mobility and stamping out back pain to transforming inactive clients into athletes, these life-changing transformations give me passion and direction to continue this health and fitness journey.  I've guided clients from daily knee pain from going up stairways and back spasms from picking up a laundry basket to participating in the kettlebell sport, strongman training, and even triathlons.  Daily fatigue and the sluggishness from just being out of shape quickly turns into energy and vitality.  These types of life-changing transformations, no matter the scope, are what drives me to train, educate, and motivate those asking for my help.  And when I see people living with passion, I see life taken to a new level of enjoyment.
