Ulises Menendez holds a Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Physical Education and Sport from the University of Havana, Cuba and for the past nine years has lived in Mexico City, working both as a coach and a trainer. Ulises began his extensive career in sports as a swimmer for Cuba’s national team, where he participated in dozens of National and International events including the Pan American Games, the Central American and Caribbean Championships, The Olympic Festival of Mexico, and The Nico Sapio Trophy in Italy, garnering several Bronze and Gold Medals along the way. As a coach, he was selected for the prestigious Paralympics Games in Atlanta in 1996 as well as Sydney games in 2000. In recent years he has coached several national events hosted by the Mexican Swimming Federation. He currently works for the Mexican Federation of Sports on Wheelchairs and continues working freelance as a trainer for several national teams.

Luis is a native of Del Rio, Texas and served in the U.S. Army with the 82nd Airborne Division. He majored in Sociology at Antioch Collage in Yellow Spring Ohio, and completed an international year at the National University in Mexico City where his son Mauricio is majoring in Electrical Engineering & Telecommunications. He also has a daughter, Lisa and she is a Junior in the Preparatory School for the National University.
Upon returning to Mexico, he served seven years as a Technical Advisor for Chrysler de Mexico, and an additional eight years as a Diplomatic Courier Escort for the U.S. Embassy in Mexico. He is Mexico’s first IKFF CKT Instructor. He is also a CST-KS (Circular Strength Training) Instructor and a certified Kettlebell Specialist under RMAX- International. He currently lives in Mexico with his wife Elia, practicing and teaching Kettlebells full time while working as a Gym Instructor at the “El Dorado Racquet Club” in the south-west part of Mexico City. He has recently been contracted to present introductory Kettlebell workshops at several Mexican coastal resorts. He can be contacted via his web page at www.cst-mx.com.
