General Kettlebell Fitness for National Guard 2 Years ago Karma: 0
I have an opportunity to offer general Kettlebell fitness to local national guards men and women once a week. I’d like to get some workout suggestions from the CKT peeps. Are these seasoned kettlebell people or not?

If not, you will be doing a lot of teaching for the snatch and clean. You may wish to start your 'stack' portion with cleans one week and then advance to snatches the next. Also, the volume a newbie can handle on the posterior chain is never very high. National Guard are not full-time warriors and lots drive desks during the week.

Just a thought.

I wouldn't have a Tabata after the warmup. Your likely going to exhaust them before they even get started.

I would also echo Andrew's concern about their experience. Snatches and even cleans aren't a good idea for raw beginners.

The "stack" looks impossible. I just don't see anyone without significant experience with the kettlebell doing anything like that.

I give beginners more sets/reps, longer circuits, and breathing ladders. This allows them to pace themselves.

Thank you for the feedback guys! It makes sense. They are not seasoned in KB training at all and I may have to split the group into 2 groups of 10 for weekly classes so I can keep a better eye on them. I will keep you posted. Thanks Again!

What about some kettlebell stations for the beginners. They jog between these stations (let's say 400 metres) and at each station they do 10-20 swings, bent over rows, lunges, squats or things like that? Just an idea.
